I’m Birgit, welcome to my blog Traveller’s Lingo.
In a nutshell, I like to SMILE…
(Share, Meet, Inspire, Learn, Experience)

I’m a recently-retired language teacher (ESL, German, Spanish and French) who is taking a leap into the world of blogging.
My love of learning and teaching languages combined with my secondary passions of equal intensity, travel and photography, seem to make blogging a perfect fit as one of my post-retirement activities.
As I learn to navigate through this new territory, I look forward to sharing my travel stories, language tips, insights, and discoveries.
My photographic taste is rather eclectic. I tend to capture whatever catches my eye. Come to think of it – I do find myself gravitating toward vivid colours and patterns; and I do get excited when I stumble across brightly painted murals and other forms of street art (static or live). I also have a penchant for street lamps, signs, windows and doors.
All the photos you see on the pages of this blog are my own (unless otherwise indicated).
